Selling Pre 1960's Vintage authentic leopard

I am probably going to call fish and wildlife and see about this, BUT I ran across a 1940's leopard bag. Is it legal to sell as long as you sell it to someone in the U.S. or does it have to be your state? Or is it all together illegal?
I see this on etsy all the time is it true?--This item is pre-ban and legal to buy, sell, and own within the USA, but it cannot be sold across country lines. Please, no international buyers.

I may just keep it anyway as an example of the era but I am curious. From what I can tell, discussed and read it seems like you can sell it only in the state and not online/mail....

I think you've got it right with only being able to sell within your state and not through the mail. I think you can only state that it is pre-ban if you have the original reciept for the item with dating. If you want to know for sure and be certain on all terms, contacting Fish and Wildlife is the way to go. Fines for these types of things can be strong. Best of luck.
