Haven't had time to shoot this yet, as I just found it this a.m., but I have a sundress labeled "From the Jack Horwitz Custom Collection by Shannon Rodgers." (I'll post the label on the label thread as it may be of interest for the resource.) I have found some info on Jack Horwitz, but not much--though I actually have heard of him (amazingly enough!)--but have only seen Shannon Rodgers' name alone or with Jerry Silverman. He partnered with Silverman in 1959, I believe, but does anyone know if he designed for other houses after that?
I found an article mentioning Horwitz in with some heavy hitters of the 50s--Tina Leser, Ceil Chapman, Suzy Perette, Mollie Parnis, etc.--but I can't find anything else on him. Must have been fairly high end, as the shop was the second-finest in this area. Anybody know more? I thought this dress was 60s, but wondering if it might be older, with that label on it?
