I had something very much like it in the late '70's if that helps! 1977 to be exact. Mine was two-piece. I wore it to my mother's birthday party on Kauai. It wasn't dotted muslin, but it was a sheer white cotton with similar cutwork on the sleeve and also on the skirt. I could probably dig up a picture - LOL!
Here's a picture of me wearing it in 1980. It's not identical to yours but it has a similar "feel." I found a photo from 1977, too, but it doesn't show the whole outfit. I definitely added the belt, but since there is cutwork on the bottom of the blouse, it couldn't be tucked in. I think this picture was taken at my house on July 4, 1980!
Thanks! I have my photos organized in albums by date and I have a fairly good memory of what I wore when so I can "usually" put my hands on a photo. I scanned this one this afternoon. Luckily for me I "live" in an "exotic" location. In fact there is a saying here, "Lucky You Live Hawaii." I feel very fortunate that I live here.
