Sheer gauze polka dot dress

Hello lovely people, I saw a dress at Goodwill today and it's bugging the heck out of me. Wish I'd taken photos, but want to ask your opinions based on a description.

It is a long, sheer, gauzy dress in a light pink colour with tiny black polka dots. On what I assume was the front, each dot has a black bead sewn into the centre. It has a drop waist but not a straight across, sort of V maybe. It is sleeveless and the shoulders close with snaps. Inside the shoulders are white string loops through which pass the straps of a pink slip (no idea if the slip is original to the dress). It is tiny, like I don't know if it would fit one of my legs tiny.

It looked kind of like a 1930s style but I saw serged seams and discounted that idea. But I'm wondering, do those count it out as older absolutely? Is it more likely to be a recent revival style?

Thanks for any opinions, I know you can't tell very well without seeing photos but it's driving me a bit batty trying to figure it out.

Great...hope it still is there, with how you are describing it does sound like it could be early (the snaps at the shoulder)

That's exactly what I thought, that's why it's bugging me. I've never seen that in a modern dress. I will try to go back today. It is miniscule and I don't have a hope of getting it on, but I suppose I could try to sell it.

Went back to Goodwill and it was gone....I imagine someone smarter than me snapped it up. Now we'll never know...
