Shipping hint for the hot, hot weather.

Thought I would throw this out for all of us sellers;
I got a package today in the mail in a priority box that was pretty stuffed full.
No problem, but it had come open and I have a feeling that it was due to the intense heat making the glue on those boxes fail.
So a bid of tape might be in order for just a bit.

I want to make sure everyone knows I do not think the seller was at fault. I get packages all the time in these priority boxes without extra tape added and I have never gotten one that has come open, I really do think it was the over 100 degree weather we are having.
 
Julie, thanks for that hint. I always put a stretch of tape on each end just to insure the box won't come open. Reason being, one time I had packages to mail, had them all ready but was going out of town so I decided I would mail them from there. They sat in my warm car and when I went to get them out, everyone of them had come unglued on the ends! That is why I have always taken this extra precaution.
 
you guys are making me jealous now......talking about hot weather.....

its suposed to be the heigth of summer here in the uk........ feels like a very cold autumn day....lol.....

good point juliew......about extra tape.. on packages... in hot weather...

No, I am jealous, crazy!jealous of your wonderful cool weather.
Over 100 degree weather for more then a few days makes me nuts and since it has been almost a week now of 101 and higher I am beginning to loose all will to live.
Did I mention I have always hated summer?
 
I am SO ready for the HOT to migrate elsewhere! I swear our place is always 10 degrees hotter than outside!

When I lived in Hawaii I once had a package show up in a Priority Mail box and the same thing happened. It WAS summer in Hawaii, after all. I concluded the same thing you did and have taped up all boxes ever since.
