I have no clue on shoes... I can only guess so I do not feel comfortabel telling my frined a date on these shoes...

We were thinking 50s,,, maybe 40s??? thank you...

You cant see it in the pictures but there is about a 1/2 inch metal tip on the heel and TONS of holes ont he shoe strap for the PERFECT fit!.....

Thanks in advance...

That heel looks way too stiletto-ish to be 40s or even early 50s to me, although the toebox does have a 40s look to it. I'm going to vote for late 50s, but looking forward to seeing what the experts think.... Jonathan?

Lol thanks maggie.. yeah I dont know shoes but I have seen enough to have hunches... the toe is what keeps aking me go earlier
...

but the heel puts me later lol!!! so the pickle stands!!! :-) it looks goreous on too!!!

The toebox design did stck around well into the 60s though, in the form of the classic Woolworth's canvas wedge sandals that came in so many colors - most of us have at least one pair in our closets, LOL. Mine are purple and DD has a black pair I gave her.

I can't wait for Jonathan because I think they're more modern! 1970s even - I'm not familiar with the label, but that stiletto is really skinny and I haven't seen peep toes in the late '50s-early '60s, I think it was only later that they combined those two features.

In any case, they're great shoes!

Ty marge.... that is the EXACT same pattern on these shoes... maybe they only made one style?

I know its those darn heels... mayme I should take a better pic of the heels huh?

Ok here is a closer pic of the heels and also there is still a sticker on the bottom... I don't know if the print there will help with dating?

Ok lol one more throw in there... I can see 70s honestly but they do not feel it... and I would be hard pressed to accept 70s unless the great Jonothan says so lol!!!

Its just after looking online I hae found a few pair where sellers are claiming 50s stilletto tooled mexican leather shoes and the heels are almost identical.... so either they werent common,.. or tehre are a few selles out there who are flat out wrong.....

Here is one more pic of a pair I found lol :-) cause I refuse to go down without a fight!!

Lol Im Just joking, but you all know how it is when you get an idea in your head and you wnat something to be older!

Thank you all,

Yall are wonderful

I can see them being 60s, even, but not 50s. But I could be wrong, and I'm not a shoe expert for sure! Jonathan's book ha a pair of tooled-leather Mexican slingback stilettos dated to 1960-65, but they have the very narrow, closed toe box. Although the shape of the heels on those might be similar to yours, but the book doesn't show the heels very clearly.

The shoes on Marge's link look very '50s as do the second pair pictured above - late '50s, maybe early '60s but I'm still not convinced on the first one, that combination of sling back, peep toe and stiletto is saying late '70s to me, maybe even early '80s (when they reproduced '50s stiletto styles).

We need Jonathan.. :cheer:

LOL I agree all... thank you very much... I think I will still buy them from the girl anyway... for what she will take for them becuase they look so cute on and just look 40s to me....

I didnt really think they were 40s. but had influences ... but they do feel older!!! So either way,,, they are nice shoes and thank you all for saying such... they are already special to me no matter the age!!

Thank you all again!!!

Jennifer

I am going with late 50s...
The reason is the shape of that stiletto heel in combination with the rounded toe. Although the pointed toe is very popular from about 1957 on, there are round toed shoes still being made into the early 60s, they are just not as popular. If they were 70s the stiletto heel would be a little straighter, less tapered, and probably taller.
