Arte, the Franco-German culture TV channel, has just shown a fun documentary on high heels and why women love them. Has interviews with shoe collectors, designers, celebrities, museum curators... a few vintage film snippets too - and just generally amazing and sometimes unbelievable shoes

I'm not sure if you can choose the language (at the top) or not if you try to view it from another country or if you only get German or French... I can only view the German version from here, but there is a French verstion too.
