Shoe etiquette

I do have a question for you regarding vintage shoes. If I have the original box say for the Delisso Debs brand and Famolari, should I market them with the shoe?

Lucky you to have the original boxes!!! And Delisso Debs are such nice shoes. Unless you collect shoe boxes, it would be a nice plus for the buyer, but I would probably bump up the asking price a bit if included.

Problem is the cost of shipping the box safely adds considerably to the cost of the shoes. I want the original box if its available and in great shape, but I dont' want a box that is falling apart with boring graphics, and I certainly don't want to pay more for it. I recently purchased a pair of Famolare shoes advertised to be with their original box, and the box wasn't included, so I sent the shoes back because in that case I really wanted the original box.

I thought it might,..some would be interested no matter what the box looks like, Yes?

Jonathan, thank you for responding.
If the box is shown in the pictures with the shoes, condition disclosed, and the offer of shoes either with or sans box; customers choice...then etiquette observed, yes?

Yes, unless, as Jonathan says, the boxes are in poor condition and without any bonus features.
I am prepared to pay the necessary higher shipping if vintage shoes have the original box, but I always double check it is the original, as so many times it can be the same brand, or a similar description, but still incorrect, making it worthless.

This is making me think of a shoe purchase I made a few years back. A pair of unworn Rayne's in their iconic yellow box, with the price sticker on the box and everything, even the box was mint. Only problem, the seller had gaffa taped the box shut and the only way to get the box open meant damaging it. One was not a happy bunny!

Oh! and Ouch! the unworn Raynees's..
I like everyone's advice. I will make sure the box and shoes coordinate, offer it as a buyers choice then everyone stays happy. As always this is the best forum!

Aieee....I bought several pair good shoes in mint boxes on eBay. The seller taped the crap out of each box and dropped them in the mail, using the original box AS THE SHIPPER. And then thought I was petty/crazy for complaining. Did not ding her stars, but I was tempted....
