Pancaldi – Manufacturer, 1888 – present
Pancaldi has operated in Bologna since Natale Pancaldi crafted his first shoe in 1888. His son, Romolo, took over in the 1930s. Third generation, Natalino, expanded the family business through modernizing and exporting in the post-war period. Today, fourth generation Stefano presides over the company. Most of its production is exported out of the country. Pancaldi has made shoes for Manolo Blahnik, Walter Steiger, Isaac Mizrahi, Fausto Santini and Philippe Model. In 1986, the company was licensed to produce the footwear for the German apparel company, Escada.
