Shoe ID--Jonathan?

Someone on a FB page I'm on found these shoes, and has some questions about them...

Jonathan, do you know anything about them? They are pretty unique. Do you maybe have any information on them?

What he can read on them says: All I can make out on the insole is the word "SPRING" and on bottom Grendene made in Spain with pat #

I have a few samples of these that I got from a fellow VFGer but all of the ones I have were made in Brazil, not Spain. They are the same otherwise -- mid-late 70s 1975-77 would be my guess.

I would check out Atticville on etsy, who used to stock these. I believe they are 1970s. and I have had a few pairs over the years- they are truly amazing!
