Shoes by Linda O\'Keeffe and Bags by Anna Johnson

I received these two books today as a gift - and I'm thrilled!!! They are the french versions; so it will be a little challenging translating shoe and purse terminology, but full of wonderful eye-candy!!!

Has anyone seen these books and would you know how accurate they are as far as the dating of the items?

Some of the shoes from the turn of the century defy gravity - wouldn't want to be in my cups wearing those.

Will do Lizze!

"The fetish shoes are great..." Yup!

What puzzles me are some of the turn of the century shoes that are a
1/16th away from balancing on your toes. Women didn't show their legs or feet back in the day (at least I don't think they did); so I'm assuming they were just to add inches. I'm surprised they were able to balance at all.

Those shoes weren't intended for walking, they were meant for lying down....

I think its the gold kid ones with red silk lining you are referring to? They were from the Bata collection, so I actually took those into the museum and catalogued them. They were part of an English woman's fetish footwear collection from the 1920s. The shoes may have been older than the 1920s but the collection was originally put together in the 1920s. Very few of the shoes and boots from that collection were ever intended for wear, they were only meant for sexual escapades.
