Signed Originals for Janet Lynn

Hi Linda,

No, I can't see a signature but there might not be an actual signature, it might be the label: "Jokur designs Signed Originals '74 (c) for Janet Lynn Cocoa Beach" and then the edition number (which may be missing or faded).

It looks like a silk-screen print. I found another one on ebay that has ended and no pics but it sounds similar:
JOKUR DESIGNS HAND SCREENED Tunic Shirt Purple with Scrolled design at the neck and sleeves Medium 65% Polyester, 35% Cotton"

sold for $25US two years ago.

Plus I also found something that looks like a copyright application in early 1974 which tallies with the date on your tunic. Also, art nouveau influence was very big then.

My guess is that "Janet Lynn Cocoa Beach" is the shop that sold them and/or commissioned the design. My googlings are yet to find out anything about the business apart from Cocoa Beach seems to be in Florida USA and there are some '60s and '70s holiday style fashions on Etsy with that label.

Linda look closely along all the lines - it's probably there. The photos you've supplied here aren't big and detailed enough to necessarily reveal it and they're also not comprehensive. It's probably a local artist.

I understand 'Signed Originals' to be the name of the signature limited edition range, rather than indicating they are signed, which apparantly it is not, or original - which the label tells us it is not (unique, per say) but a limited edition print.

True. I thought the edition no. referred to this particular design/er for this brand rather than a different print though. I suppose we won't know unless we find out the designer of this print.
