silk bias-cut nightgown/negligee with cotton lace trim and godet inserts

Hi - When is this from? Of course I have my theories, but I always like to double-check with the pros before listing.

Tiny, illegible tag remains at center top back. Dreamy silk (burn-test agrees) with that wonderful glossy shimmer. Pinked seams. Hem is lace-trimmed, with scallops at front, godets x2 at sides, and back slightly longer creating a train.

Thanks for assistance. - Liza

This style is around for a long time, but not earlier than the 30s, could be 40s, possibly even early 50s.

Hi, Hollis,

OK, so it's 30s, 40s, or early 50s. What would you recommend I say in the title (you can always expound in the description, of course)? Don't think I can get away with saying all three ; )...

might be parachute silk with those curving seams. I asked about a 60s christening gown with similar features we decided might have been made from a wedding dress made from ex or excess parachute silk.

Pinkcoke, parachute silk doesn't make for good night gowns - it's too light weight and wrinkles easily. This one looks like it might be a silk charmeuse or silk satin, it drapes nicely.

I agree with Hollis that it's from the '30s-40s - I think you could say that rather than going into the '50s as it's easier.
