Silk Gold Metallic??? 2 Pc 60\'s???

I was given this 2PC by an elderly woman who is moving and needed some help. I LOVE IT! I tried the 'burn test' problem is: the gold metal threads skews the scent. But I think it is silk. How would you describe the waistline on this dress? Is this considered Metalasse? Any help is appreciated.

WOW! That is so stunning, especially from the back view.

The fabric is a metallic brocade, and is not matelasse'. It's a jacquard weave with raised threads/designs and is a gorgeous fabric.

great piece, love that colour. I would describe the skirt of the dress as having 3 pleats at the front waistline on either side. Gives it a lovely shape! The cut of the back is pretty great too.

It's stunning! That back is great, revealing but hooray, you can wear a bra!

I was researching waistline descriptions a little while back, and found this wikipedia page. which describes your waist as a u-shaped waistline. So to add to Emily's description, perhaps: U-shaped waistline with 3 pleats either side into the skirt. Very flattering! Bombshell stuff - really emphasises a small waist.

I love 60s metallic brocade sets, and the color (soft aqua? seafoam?) and styling on yours are especially wonderful.
