Six or more Black Velvet covered Buttons

I am looking for black velvet covered buttons to replace buttons on a coat. Right now it has buttons that are really not aprorpiate for it and are not original.

They need to be an 1" at least wide and up to 1.25". The larger end of that range would be more ideal, but the smaller will work. I need 6 buttons that match exactly, but if you have a few more beyond 6 that went together, I will take them so I have spares for it. I would prefer something very simple and basic. Flat or maybe slightly domed, but nothing outlandishly embellished.

As far as era, nothing antique. This is for a very well made 80s era coat. (and i don't usually do 80s, but this is a real good one).

I can trade for some sewing supply that you may need to complete a restoration or repair...zippers, different buttons, threads, etc etc.... or will buy them outright. I have vintage and more modern stuff.

I can get those in town at Baers fabric store. They'd be about .90 each with my discount.

If that sounds good, let me know and I can get them the next time I go into Louisville.

That would be grand, Hollis. If you can get more than that...maybe at least 8 just to be safe it would be fantastic. I have looked around these parts and have come up so empty. I am in no rush, just wanted to ask before i forgot about it and before next fall came again. (just giving myself a running start to get it done in time LOL).

Chris, you can actually make them yourself too. Just go to a fabric store and tell them you're looking for a fabric button making kit and also pick up a remnant of velvet to match. Very fast and easy!

Leigh....Um...you are talking to ME. If it were someone else that would be great option. LOL.

Until I get my eyes fixed, Ican't do that tiny detail work. Only things i can do blindly. Okay, i can...but it is for something i will sell, so i want to make sure someone doesn't say "what the heck is wrong with these buttons" LOL

Trust me, babe, if I can do it with my arthritic fingers, you can too! It's super easy and doesn't require any detail work. Wish I could explain it here, but that would be a hopeless mess.
