Sneak Peak and date check pretty please - 40s?

I'm thinking the the rayon metal side-zip tidal wave garden is 40s wartime swing? And would you call the front peplum (for some reason I think it has to go all the way around to be called peplum).

And the other one with a pattern I don't know how to describe (ideas anyone?) is a 40s/50s cusper - I think it's a cotton blend and it has a big meta zip up the front.

You're help is most appreciated!

like them both...the first is half peplum, l agree and most lve seen were fuller almost a frill, but that would do..l think your dates are spot on..

the 2nd one, the pattern is hard to describe...cannot take my eyes of the padded shoulders...!!!

Hmmm, I do believe I'm catching on! Thanks, Sara! Photobucket is crammed right now; so I'll post a close up of the 2nd dress when it frees up. And I'll take better pics as the sun is coming out now.

How pretty! I think they are both just after the War, maybe 1946. In the States you really start to see these print dresses advertised as the War was winding down.

Thanks, Lizzie! I was hoping to get these (and a gazillion other items) up today, but my computer and photo program is acting up. It's taking forever just to crop a photo. Off to the Mac specialists to see what's wrong.

Yes Sara, almost like a maze!

Deb, I think both of these dresses are mid 40s and you could
justify using "War Time" or "WWII" in the title for them
(that seems to be searched).
