So...I\'m having buyers remorse...Did I do okay??

I bought these at the antique mall yesterday. The dealer let me have all 4 (one isn't on a stand) for $60. At the time, I was excited, but after sleeping on it I'm thinking about all the work to clean them up, photograph and list and then the pain of shipping. Has any one else sold a dressmakers form before??

One good thing came out of all this. While researching dress forms I found out that I have a desirable "My Double" dress form. I've had it for a long time and had no idea it was anything special. I don't have a picture. Here is listing for one on ebay 160322551966.

I just bought a mannequin on ebay. Those will sell. I saw one go for quite a bit of money, especially the ones where the size can be adjusted.

Try the fast food or small restaurants in your area for boxes. "to go" cups come in tall, thin boxes, and are just right for shipping these forms. Make sure to double up the base, and put in lots of foam blocks to stabilize it in the box.
I have several big foam pieces in the basement stash, since toys and computer stuff comes in them so often. Maybe stop by a toy store or computer store's trash for some chunks. We have to pay by the bag, so I tend to not throw them away, since trash bags are 50cents each (yes, I'm that cheap)

Oh, canned air, or a really strong vacuum wand will clean that attached jersey nicely. Do it outside, though.

Caribou or Starbucks is a great place for the boxes.

If they would fit in a 14" square box, Sam's Club has a package of 6 for about $5. I just start with a bottom one and top one and add the others in between and then tape the heck out of them.

If you want nice NEW ones, try ACE hardware stores-theirs are relatively inexpensive, unless you have a Uline near you, that would be the place to go!
