1. Do I call it a CAMEO even though it is isn't traditionally what you think of?

2. Any idea on the age??

Any help greatly appreciated!

I can't help on the date either. You could just say "vintage." Reminds me of the minuette (sp?).

I would go with cameo style or portrait. I could be wrong but I think
cameo implies carving along with figural.

It 'looks' old! (big help eh?) Hopefully those that know jewelry will
be able to give you a clue on the age.

What about Napoleon style Necklace??? HMMM it is different and a not something you see all the time. I always think thats a good thing!:)

How about miniature? This seem more in the tradition of painted miniatures/portraits/silhouettes rather than cameos, which if real, are carved from shell or stone. Of course, repros are molded plastic, but they are still 3-D.

As to age? you got me.

I have lots of those type of necklaces. Mine are all from the 1960s. I would use 'cameo style' somewhere in the description. I don't know their proper name though! If you find out please post it for us!!

It 'looks' old!

Funny, Sue....I was thinking "It feels old". lol

I tend to be gravitated to things that are a bit unusual .... especially with jewelry. Tends to bite me in the butt when I go to list it and I can't figure out what I have!!

I think I am going to use Cameo, Portrait and Miniature all in there somewhere and see what happens!

Thanks, guys!

If that is porcelain the print is called an "Underglaze Transfer". If it's plastic then it's probably a decal of some sort. I'm not certain of the jewelry term though. I think maybe porcelain portrait pendant would work. As far as age goes, it could be (and probably is) 60s. I think if we dated it by the subjects attire it would be considerably older.
