Some Questions on Mens Dior...I think it\'s 50s? TY

Hi! First , thanks for helping me w/ my sweater I posted last week (didn't want to bump it back up)!

Second, I have this Christian Dior mens shirt. I think it's 50s? I know he was making menswear in the 50s but I've never personally seen any. The name is ebroidered and there is another small tag that says All Silk. Plus the Hallebrook label from Halles which I've only seen on 40s/50s stuff.

But of course, I could be wrong. Could be 60s? I'm no menswear expert, that's for sure. Shell buttons, loop closure at collar. I'm just going to post some pics...

Oh! Last thing. Is this Sharksin? I've only personally seen wool Sharksin, but this definitely has the look and sheen. TYVM!

I guess it could be changable silk. It looks different from every different angle and movement. Even though it appears metallic, there are no metallic threads. It's soft.

Thanks! Yeah, i know Halles was around till the early 80s, but the Hallebrook label is a little older. Sometimes found w/ just the regular Halle Bros label, sometimes not. I've lived in Cleveland most my life (not anymore) so I find lots of Halles labels.

I was guessing this was 55-62. Somewhere in there.

Ok, I guess I do have another question. As far as I know Vintage Mens CD is not very desirable, is that right? Not Leslie Faye, or anything *bad*, but I don't know if guys will be searching Dior, ykwim? I would've bought this shirt either way, though. Camp shirt? I'll put Dior in the title though still, of course.

Ok, maybe that means menswear inspired? I don't know. It just seems older, ykwim? maybe it's not though?

Wouldn't it say 100% Silk as opposed to All Silk if it was 70s? I don't know, I'm just speculating.

Well, i've found a few news articles/ads all seem to be in the 54/55/56/57 range that say something about him having Mens, shirts, ties, hankies, and the like. Maybe he liscensed them out? Maybe I'll cough up the $25 so I can read the whole article.

Like I said - not an article I can vouch for. If you have good sources that indicate 50s/early 60s which is what the shirt sure looks like, I'd go with them.

I'd put it right at '59/60 with that placket detail and the Continental cuff...and it is changeable silk, but always referred to as 'sharkskin' on eBay because that kw draws buyers. LOVE it.
