Sonia Rykiel (probably) but when?!

Hi there

I picked up this pretty little thing at a kilo sale and as it weighed about 100g it was a bit of a bargain!

how, there’s only one label in it - (which indicates it’s Sonia Rykiel), but as it’s completely sheer that’s not that surprising

I’m not sure whether it’s authentic but it does seem to have seams on the outside (which I believe is fairly typical) and I have seen some other sheer Sonia Rykiel dresses.

My guess is this is absolutely not vintage and it’s more likely to be 2010 plus based on style and the not label but I’d really appreciate anyone’s thoughts!

Doesn't look like typical Rykiel, but I've seen pantsuits by her in thriftshops that didn't seem "typical" either. We can't authenticate items on the forums. I guess dating-wise, could be newer, could be vintage but I think not older than 90s, just with that style and print... Maybe it originally came with a slip/dress, something to go underneath, that had more labels?

Thanks both - there definitely aren’t any more labels - I did wonder if there had originally been a slip as it is very sheer and it would make sense that the labels would be in that!

Can't be positive but it looks early 90s to me. Very pretty print.

It does remind me of an early 90s boho/festival dress.

I’m not certain, and something about that label points to a possible earlier time, I’m thinking potentially 1970s.

I did see a very similar style sheer silk dress by her on another site listed as 70’s and saw some chiffon floral print dresses in 70s editorials so it’s not completely absurd.

Does your dress have a drawstring hem by any chance?

Also the label looks to have been resewn in, and a bit messily.
