Speaking of Clutch Coats

Ok, now I really have to get to work on my freelance bread-and-butter work (Flash for a book promotion... yawn), but I had to find out about my find of the week! Is this COMME des GARÇON a clutch coat? There was no belt to be found anywhere around. And to me it looks a little odd belted anyway. Also, I have a feeling this is '80s with the cropped sleeves and gold, but am not sure...

I was striking out at a local Sally's and looked under a rack near the mirror where everything is tried on (it's usually a good place to find stuff that doesn't fit the original finder) And spotted a crumpled gold-metallic-flecked tweed ball. Intigued, I picked it up and spotted a CDG label. Goosebumps were forthcoming.

Very, very chic!

I'm not crazy about it belted either, but I love it open - has
a cape effect almost. Yes, I would call it a clutch coat.

I would say 80s (late, I think). It looks really smart with the black dress and gold necklace Kevin.

I'm not that familiar with the CdG label, but I would say this is a good find and wonderful for Fall.

Thanks Sue. It's funny, I never heard of a clutch coat until I read another thread here and it solved The Mystery of the Missing Belt for me!

I think it is a clutch coat too and like it much better open; however, I do have a 70s Lilli Ann with those type sleeves. Will have to take a pic sometime.

Nice Coat!

Oh I *love* that! Stunning! What a fantastic find, Kevin!!

I prefer it open, as well - but I am digging it closed, too. Versatile and I can so see that being rocked here in NY - it's just gorgeous and so cool.

It's fan-ta-bu-lous and Michelle/designertrend needs to see it! :)
