I didn’t know if I should add this to Linda’s long thread or not. My local thrift store had an “Ugly Christmas Sweater” rack! They never have a Halloween rack, so this amused me. And then to find this sweater included ...

It’s not old, but it has a cool vibe to it. I did find some really ugly sweaters to list, which I bought. However, if you search “ugly Christmas sweater” on eBay you get 63,512 results, so the demand is probably well met!
 
Ugly christmas jumpers/sweaters can just be a bold graphic festive design I think, the trend is still going big here in the UK. I have even seen online stores dividing the theme into categories. I found mine in a charity shop at the end of August (label 'Whisper' it's possibly 80's or just very retro highstreet - not really sure!) The back is just the crosses, so I can sort of get away wearing it a bit further away from Christmas too..or I'd like to think :P

Melanie, that's actually pretty cute - I wouldn't put this as "ugly", and neither would I Amanda's. They're just fun nordic/winter themed sweaters IMHO. I didn't know about this Ugly Xmas Sweater thing before joining here, but I associate something a lot more garish/colorful/kitschy with that.
 
Yes Midge - not only are there plenty of garish Christmas sweaters out there, sellers embellish them as well in truly obnoxious fashion. I didn't put the word "ugly" on my title, for that first sweater, because I thought it was a nice. Here's one I got that did get the "ugly" word .... and it is not nicely constructed either.
