Specialty sleeve on shirtwaist

Hi, Is there a name for this type of sleeve adornment? The pigeon breasted shirtwaist is cotton lawn and lace, 1890’s-ish, with a very narrow sleeve curved at the elbow. (There is a matching skirt.) This pouf is sewn over/on top of the actual sleeve and is encased on both edges, like a bubble. Just curious about what they were called. I’ve not seen this treatment before. Thank you, Ronda

After revisiting this, I wonder as few things. Could we could see a shot showing the entire bodice, with the shoulders? I am curious about how the sleeve hangs on a real body.

I too am wondering about the sleeves. I saw a post on instagram of a photo of an antique dress and the "pouf" part was pushed up into the top of the ruffle sleeves. Which would make sense when worn.

It's a transitional style between the Bishop sleeve of c. 1901 and the revival of the full sleeve in 1904. I don't think there is a name for it, but its definitely between the two styles. This 1902 example is similar, but with two puffs instead of just the one:
