Split Screen on eBay\'s search?

HERE is the article.

Basically it says the search will show BIN on one side and straight auction on the other.

I'm not sure how I feel about this - change is hard and I am a member of the "If it ain't broken don't fix it school." What do you all think?
 
I don't know how I feel about it, either. It may turn out to be a good thing, since the BIN option will be more visible to buyers. I think a lot of buyers don't even know about the BIN search option in the current format.

I personally don't like the gallery format (like the one shown in the example). I prefer to see more items per page. But who knows? Maybe this will turn out to be a good thing.

ugh. it's all getting way too complicated. i feel like i'm in seventh grade math class again... you know, when they started incorporating letters into math. letters? in math?! my linear brain can't handle it.

all i want to do is type in a word, hit search, and get my dang list of items in the logical sort order of what is ending soonest to latest. none of this split screen, auto-enlarging picture, sort by most expensive-including-shipping-that-never-really-works-because-not-everyone-posts-shipping-rates crapola.
 
The main problem with all these changes is that there is no familiarity. Every time I sign on things are different. I am used to the tweaking and changing but this is very off putting to occassional ebay users. There is no sense of comfort. It like going to the grocery and everytime you go the store is rearranged. You get frustrated and go elsewhere. I have a friend that is the biggest shopoholic I know. She is also very good at the computer and shops A LOT online. I was very surprised to learn that she has never bought on ebay and finds the whole thing "too confusing". And it ain't getting easier.
