Hello VFGers,

I know very little about jewelry, and am trying to learn more. I've got these Stanley Hagler NYC / Ian St Gielar earrings, and be glad of some advice. I'd never heard of them before.

Dating seems clear, Ian St Gielar started designing for Stanley Hagler in 1989, and set up his own company in 1996, so these must presumably are between those dates as they have both signatures.

I've seen some reasonable prices for pieces with both signatures, but mostly all I can see is brooches, and one or two sets. Can anyone tell me how just earrings compare in price and desirability to brooches? I'm imagining less so! They are clips.

Are they blue daisies?!

I know it's difficult to advise on pricing, but if anyone can give an indication I'd be grateful. I'd also be interested to hear if anyone has an idea if they'd do better on ebay or etsy.

Many thanks for any help,

Ruth

I'm also new to vintage costume jewellery so you're not on your own. :) These earrings are lovely Ruth. Not sure whether I see daisies but perhaps some of our jewellery experts can help.

They are indeed beautifully made, :) and very much 'Hagler' in style. I see a double layer of wire beaded petals, prong set rhinestones, and lovely Swarovski margarita stone in the center.

Although I haven't sold on eBay for awhile, my feeling is that they may do better there -- but then again you could try Etsy, since google is what brings in outside shoppers. I wish I had a better answer, lol.
