State-O-Maine, Men's loungewear?

Hi, I got this great piece, but am not sure about it. I am thinking it must be for men, as everything I could find online said that State O Main only made menswear, and that it is from the 60's. I also don't know what it would be called; loungewear, smoking jacket, robe? It still has it's tags, which tells me it is called "Taj Mahal", and is 55% cotton and 45% acetate.

Buttoning right over left is for a man, and Nehru collars were popular in the late '60s after the Beatles went to India. It may have had matching pants or it could just be worn as a jacket like you have it photographed.

UPDATE; just read the fabric content. I agree that it could be a night shirt or pyjama top.

Thank you guys! Doesn't seem like it would be all that comfortable to sleep in, but I am a pants gal at night for sure! No nightshirts or nightgowns for me.
