Step into my parlor~

I've been slowly making my basement / office / work room into a place I don't hate to be.

It's closer than it's ever been and it makes me sooooo happy to sit here and work!

Here's a few reasons why:

I told my hubby I'm going to start calling it The Salon (to which he replied "yeah, The Salon d'Mom :drinking2: )

This little beauty is attached to my make up table in my bedroom~ I absolutely LOVE it! Love the shape and the "Revlon" script in the upper right hand corner is etched into the glass - not painted on or stickers - the way they USED to do things when a girl went to a hairdresser for a fabulous 'do~

I just had to share with people who understand....

Thanks for letting me share....

Sharon -

It's wonderful. I especially love the blond mahoghany dresser and the round end table. Your Revlon make-up mirror is awesome, too!

Thanks for showing it off!

It looks great Sharon, your Revlon mirror is special!

I too have aspirations of getting my workspace as together as yours one of these days, I have a lot to work with it but I just can't get rid of all the darn clutter.

I can't help but ask though where are all the goodies you have to sell hiding, inquiring minds would like to know!

Thanks all!

The Revlon mirror came from a school rummage sale I help with twice a year - I felt funny taking it cause I work the sale, but nobody else wanted it (YEAH ME!)

Mary Jane, just between you, me and the internet, behind the cream colored curtain, by my favorite lamp in the whole world, is a 15ft closet rod struggling under the weight of stuff I should work on (instead of styling my room :embaressed: )

I've also commandeered all available storage space in the "laundry" part of the basement which is about the same size as my "Salon"~

The icing on the cake is my 16yo daughter is not as fond of vintage as I am (surprised? Me neither...) so she and her friends seldom venture down and leave chips and soda cans everywhere:USETHUMBUP:

:wow22: Sharon! Your 'salon' is amazing! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!!! You must be 'tickled pink' with it. I would so love to make my own work room look like that. It's so GLAM!!! Love the Revlon mirror too. ALL OF IT!!! I would live there. :xmas3:

I would love to have you all over for martinis and gossip!

It's still a work in progress though. We still get water in the basement occasionally so no carpet or tile. I'm thinking black or gray epoxy floor paint with pink flecks~

Gotta tell you about the great Marilyn print on the wall~ On my birthday my oldest son mysteriously insisted I come down stairs with him, and on the wall at the bottom of the stairs was Marilyn! Love those moments when they floor you with their thoughtfulness

Janine, wouldn't that be the BEST?! We could dish vintage, play dress up, drink martinis and then when we sober up I'll teach you all how to ride motorcycles!!!!

I can operate a lawn mover, snow thrower/blower, bicycle, automobile, and typewriter so I assume operating a motorcycle is like operating all of the above at one time.

Anyone know what's up with this: :xmas3:

The little guy has an endless supply of red ornaments and the tree just keeps eating them!!!:o

You have him well trained my dear! :headbang: :drinkingtoast:

Wow, what a great place! Gee, I'd love to have such a cute "salon" to work at, if I didn't have to go to the office every day :saint:.
Still dreaming about a separate room for my doll collection and with enough space for sewing, all my craft supplies etc. ...

Oh Terri~

I cleaned it up to take the pix (like my kids clean their rooms - shoved everything behind stuff!)

But at least it's MY mess and I get it straightened up when I need / want to. And it's so much easier now that there is some semblance of order :)
