Stocking sizes and their show size equivalents

I know this has been discussed before and Lei told me this morning that a size 9 stocking is about a size 5uk/7us shoe.

Is there a conversion chart anywhere, or can anyone reel a few off for me for future reference? Thankyou! I have lots to list, when I can remember where I put them.. :BAGUSE:

Off to look in some steamer trunks as that seems like a likely place as any!

BUT there is some leeway when it comes to stocking sizes depending on how much give is in the stockings too.

I'm a UK 8 and I've worn stocking size 10's without any problem when they have been more stretchier but find 11's good for my size although the chart says that 10 1/2's are for my shoe size (I wear either though).
Most people who wear vintage stockings will know approx. what size suits them but it's always good to give a guide for those who aren't familiar with wearing them.

Just a note for non UK people, the shoe sizes listed on the left are UK sizes not North American sizing although the women's stocking sizes listed are pretty much universal.
