Even though this has metal zippers on the sleeves and on the back I am confused as to a date, 60's?

The workmanship is really good with hand sewn and machine sewn stitches, the metal hooks and eyes are even covered.
Labeled Victoria Royal LTD, we have a Valentina LTD in the label resource but not a Victoria so I guess we have another label to add to the resource, I will just have to do some research on this here Victoria. (great name by the way) :)

I think I will market this as a goddess wedding gown, no?

That'a beauty. Usually "goddess" gowns have the very greek statue looking features, like drapes, chiffon or another floaty fluid fabric halter straps. Its the bodice that is not as what one would traditionally think. But i definitely think it is WORTHY of a goddess...if it were me i wouldprobably still pop it in there.
 
Also go with a reference to Galadriel, renn fantasy Tori. This is very
pretty.

Yeah i definitely think I could see this at a Rennassiance faire...maybe with a crown of flowers on the head. Or a ..what are those called....the pointed princess hats with the scarf coming out of the top. I know i know the name of that...it just excapes me at the moment.
 
Too bad my sis won't wear vintage and needs everything "never touched by human hands". I keep seeing so many dresses that would be perfect for her wedding, but alas, i guess there is one in every family :)

But when she realizes weddings like she envisions cost more than $1,000, she will realize she can get a better dress for maybe the same money she would buy a new one that wasn't as well made.
 
My late great uncle Oscar Montalto was the dress designer and founder of Victoria royal Ltd so named after my late grandmother. He was the personal designer of many of Grace Kelly's gowns. he would often sketched his designs on napkins at restaurants and leave them absentmindedly behind. My mother took me as a child to see some of his gowns on display behind glass in New York.she had beautiful gowns from him but I don't know what has happened to them since she (and my father) have passed away. He was my father's uncle and they were very close. Oscar was a brilliant designer. A rare gem. The cruise line of the same was one of his .investments

I came across your post because I was looking for information on my great uncle Joseph Montalto who is Oscar’s father . My grandmother Assunta was sister to Joseph and aunt to Oscar - so hi from distant family and some more pieces to family history
