Suggestions on US maker for 1980s Victorian style ankle boots

Any original markings on the sock have worn away, but they are marked with US size only and by the 1980's that wouldn't be a UK brand. The original soles were resin rubber, they've since been resoled. Any ideas? further pics here.

Temptress. Hope it's okay but I've bought them - please send airmail and let me know if there's any additional cost. They're just what I like and in my size too, curse you Melanie.

I think they are more likely early 90s. I recall the earliest styles like these may be 1988/89 but they were usually in white, pink, or red, and had lots of cutwork and stiletto heels. The more academically correct styles, like these were usually in black, brown, often in suede, and were from the early 90s - the Goths loved them. They may have been made for the U.S. market, but by that point, the chances they were being made in the U.S. are slim. I would expect they were more likely made in Mexico, Brazil, Spain, UK, or possibly even China. Of course the best ones were made in Italy, but these don't look to be at that level.

These were made in Brazil, Jonathan - and I agree with an early '90s date. The '80s boots, as you said, had stilettoes. I'm still part goth and love lace up boots like these, and find the ankle support helps me work on my feet all day - plus they look nice with dresses.

Of course I don't mind Nicole! :) Glad they'll go to an appreciative home.

Thanks for the info on dating - I'm still learning with 80's/90's. They seem to blur so much more than other decades for me, especially when so much of the 90's is revival.
I have a pair like these with very flat heels by Bally that were my mother's - I thought they were later than the high heel version but I just checked with her and she remembers buying them in 1991. I never thought to ask.
I should have said brand, rather than maker, as they are marked made in Brazil, but having a US size I wondered who they were made for, as I'm not familiar with a US brand that might have made this style. In the UK it could have been Saxone or or similar high street brand. It's not important, I was just curious...

Could be Nine West. Can you show the interiors and bottoms? Don't know if they made shoes in Brazil though.
