Oh how I miss British summers....not! :USING: My Mum came to visit me once and couldn't believe I was wearing my winter coat in June!

Its not actually cold now. But several times a day the heavens open, for months now, it's just downpour after downpour, with bits of sun in between!

But officially it's a drought and we've all got to save water.

We were just talking about that! Only a few more weeks to go. Can't believe how quickly it has come round. Maybe London will have a sunny August!

That is one of the good things about Britain though, wherever you are, it only takes 3 hours to get to the beach! Loads of people go down for the day and back again when it's a good weather day, but it's only really warm enough in the south :D

So true. We always said we got Summer in April, when I lived in Scotland, and that was it. Thank goodness so many sunny countries were nearby for holidays.

Actually I'm in Loughborough, it Lei who is in Leicester. But I didn't know it was your home town! small world. Gosh now that you say that I can't remember the last time I was at the seaside, I think it was Blackpool in April or November a couple of years ago to see my sister compete in the Opera House, mighty windy and the beach was closed because they were renovating!

I whiled away the time in a fabulous Venetian Mask shop instead chatting with the owners who import them. It was just before I did Rigoletto which we had to mask the whole cast for.

:hysterical:That photo! The ad is fun too. I remember going to Spain (but inland Andalucia - not the coast!) a few years ago on a small group tour, and sharing my room with an English girl. I arrived with a suitcase full of summer clothes and she looked at that when it was open and said how I could have that many summer clothes - she didn't she said, because there was almost no summer in London... Our summer is pretty wet too at the moment, and the hail storm a week ago killed my balcony flowers :flaming:, but we do get hot weather and need a lot of light summer clothes :sunshine:... last year though it was also September that was warm until forever. It'll be interesting how it goes this year. Our spring was already wet enough.
