Summer or Fall clothes right now?

Hi, I'm working on setting up my Etsy shop (am I allowed to post this here?? I hope so!) I'm just wondering, wanting more experienced peoples thoughts on if I should stick with the summerish items (bathing suits, strappy/sleeveless dresses, sandles ect.) or should I move onto the mid season items like shoes with toes (does season matter for those?) and longer sleeved dresses and stuff, what have you noticed as far as how people shop vintage? My store name is Wearable Vintage, so my focus is on clothes for wearing moreso than collecting - what do you all think - summery items or fall?? Thanks!!

I've had a etsy shop for about a month now, and one of the first major items I sold was a bathing suit. I think people are still looking for summer clothes, but not sure how long that will continue. A good mix of both perhaps?

I never stop adding clothes for either season. Remember, the other side of the earth has opposite seasons from where you are~ some of my most loyal customers are from Australia. Plus, people travel year 'round to tropical and cold climates alike, so sundresses and sweaters are always selling, for me anyway.

Aloha -

Please remember that there are some places where is it is always warm. I do wear "heavier" and darker clothes in the fall and winter but the average mean temperture only varies 10 degrees here - so I wear shorts and tee shirts almost year round. This is also true of other sub-tropical climates.

I think that with vintage people do not pay quite as much attention to "season" as they do to falling in love with the piece - and thinking they will wear it. So I think you should have a little bit of everything -all the time. (And in my size.)

:hysterical:

you're too cute, Linn!!

we carry pretty much everything all the time, but definetly LEAN heavier seasonally; we'll be loading velvets, jackets, darker toned hats and handbags, and pulling the fruity-floral hats/bags/gloves within the next 30-60 days.

Classic summer pieces that will be worthy even next season and beyond will still sell. Versatile pieces can keep being worn in my neck of the woods well into Oct (heck, it's still in the 60s in Nov any more, and I'm in Missouri!).

I'd do a quick stock the shelves of summer, then start smattering in cardigans and wool skirts. Coats will start moving by mid August.

Great question!!

I had been wondering the same thing :)

I'm glad to know that a variety of seasons is ok. I've been wanting to add in some great things that aren't as summery.

Thanks to everyone who responded. Your experience and expertise is greatly appreciated!

Anyways I have alot of wool coats and such but I was thinking September and late August for the longer/wool items, but I was also thinking summer may be cooling off a bit - I'll get snapping and try to list those swim suits still then! Thanks again!! You all ROCK!!! :headbang: seriously love you all!!
