Hi,

I have an original Sumrie Original ladies 1940's/50's suit but can't find any info about it and it's worth. Can anyone help me, please?
Many thanks.

Hi. I’ve seen a lot of Sumrie men’s dinner and formal suits, and I think I’ve had ladies ones on occasion - all from various decades. Good quality ready to wear stuff usually.

If you look up Harris Sumrie (founder) on Wikipedia it gives you some basic company history - originally manufactured in Leeds - but doesn’t mention dates for the ladies lines.. although some pictorial ads for women’s tailoring pop up if you search ‘Sumrie suit’ which may help with dating more precisely, and therefore make it easier to see what other similarly styled ladies suits have sold for recently at online auction, etc., if you can’t find any with the exact same label :)

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I've looked it up online but only found mens jackets, and mostly 1960s. This is definitely 40/50s but I can only find similar in other brands, not this brand.
