Swimsuit? Playsuit? - 50\'s? 60\'s? VLV?

I'm going to list this today, but I wanted to know if it would appeal to the VLV crowd and if it was 50's or 60's? Also, has anyone heard of the company JayHart Originals that made the suit?

Thank you! :)

The op-artsy print made me think 60's, too. :)

But the style kind of makes me think it would appeal to the VLV 50's crowd. I don't know though... I hate to offend the VLVers by putting something they don't think fits their tastes.

If this was a flower power pattern I would say know, but it could appeal...being Vegas and hotel swimming pools. I picture for VLV more either Hawaiian tiki prints - vintage but some newer ones that have vintage looking prints, and then the Esther Williams sort of look. It might have appeal to the crowd, but people really want to outdo eachother at VLV. They might wear this "local" but at VLV they want their pinup shoes and their bombshell swimsuit with the bullet cups.

at least i think....

It is very cool though!

I wonder what the rockabilly gals will say...

I don't know about VLV gals but Oh would I look so much better in a suit like that. Great for hiding the thighs!!

I think it's a little too psychedelic/funky for VLV, and definately 60's. But it's VERY neat! I'd wear it!
:D

Hi Justine,

I agree with Kristine. Its not really a LVL / RAB thang but it's totally groovy! I recently sold a dress with that same sorta swirling black & white pattern. I referenced it as being similar to The Beatles Revolver album cover! People seemed to like that comparison.

Best of luck!

If you could get a swimsuit in that shape that was covered in the Beatles Revolver album cover I would have it if it killed me getting it! ...maybe I should ask Klaus Voorman to paint me one, LOL! He's the artist that designed that cover, he was also the bassist in Manfred Mann in the late 60s, I have quite a crush on him. He had an exhibit at this gallery I used to work at and I spent far too long talking absoloute rubbish to him and gazing at him adoringly.. oops! He's all the most wonderful things about bass players rolled into one, and I have always had a thing for musicians. I really should chat him up and get him to paint me a swimsuit. LOL!

Senti, you are just the most eclectic and magical girl! I want your life!!:D

~Maureen;)

LOL! I shall take that as a compliment, but honestly you don't want my life, it's like a chaotic rollercoaster, all over the place... but it hardly ever gets boring and I always have lots of fun stories to tell. ;)

While the print isn't too vlv-ish, as someone who went to vlv1 and vlv3, it is something that I might have bought to wear there. I don't think it would be "offensive" to try to market it toward the vlv crowd!

Here's an interesting little note on the label - Jay Hart must be another label under Jack Hartley, Inc:

That's kind of neat, huh?

Cute suit, the split sides with the little bows really make it. If the sides weren't split I would think it a touch too matronly, but Wow, it's subtly sexy now. I've had a couple suits like this and I always end up cursing my mannequin because she doesn't have the body to fill it out properly. I think on a curvy woman this would look fantastic.

That's very interesting on the label!

Maybe the company had two different lines as you said...or maybe when the company moved to Miami, he thought it sounded hipper for people to call him Jack. :)
