Found this great clip about shopping in London's most fashionable shops in the late '60s: Biba, Granny Takes a Trip, Lord Kitchener's Valet - it's all here and fabulous!

Wish I could pop along and go there now - sadly, these shops are long gone.

I love the line about the sales staff looking like the customers and being offended if you called them "Madam"!

It shows you how much has changed - these days it's a given in a fashion shop that the staff should look like the customers. I can't imagine otherwise (and in fact I've successfully recruited most of my staff from my customers).
