Swirl Dress ?

I loosely collect Swirl dresses. I just adore them. I have different sizes though as sometimes the measurements are not clear. I am a petite.
My ? is I have the cutest Swirl dress and it fits me perfectly in front. The problem is it gaps open in the back.
I know they wrap but this one I started looking at and if you line it up in back it has about 1/4 inch difference at top by button on one side from the other.
Of course I buy these for investment but also wear them.
I have tried pinning along back but it will not work.
To keep from ruining a Swirl dress would you.
A. Make a new buttonhole about 1/2 way down the length from top Swirl button and waist and hope you can find a Swirl button to close. (no problem as I can steal temporarily off of another one) ( my main ? is would this ruin a Swirl dress? )
B. Maybe try to put velcro along the length.

Has anyone else found some of the Swirl dresses open in back a bit more than you want. Maybe it is cause I am so shortwaisted. I still love and will wear my Swirl dresses though. I feel so feminine in them. Thank you for any suggestions.

Hi, there. I love Swirls too! They're my favorite thing in the summer.

I find that I have a gap in the back when I don't have it tied quite right, usually because I've tied it to tightly around my waist (as if the dress were too big). Is it possible that the dress is really a little big for you?

The first thing I would do would be to move the button so that the button & buttonhole (and the top of the dress at the neckline in the back) line up correctly.

If you still have the gap in the back, I would do something temporary and easily reversible, such as adding a snap or two rather than another button or velcro. A new button would be permanent, and I do think it would affect the value of the dress, and the weight of velcro would affect the way it hangs and would be noticeable.

Good luck!

It fits perfectly is why I am so annoyed. To make it work correctly I actually would have to pull the part with the button the 1/4 inch past the button hole. I can reset the button and might but then one side will be the 1/4 inch higher than the side with the button hole. I don't think they originally made it lopsided but over the years the material stretched just enough at the waist to throw it off. I like the snaps idea and have no idea why I didn't think of it. Gee. Thanks for your help.
