TD4 by Eletra dress: 80s/90s? What to call this shape?

This dress here is from when I started buying secondhand/vintage and was only interested in any kind of formal/evening wear (hey, which girl doesn't dream of looking like a princess! ;) ) I was 17 and pulled this out of a $1-bin in a thrift shop in Alabama... it fits me, but to be honest, it's not really my style, so why keep it in my closet.

I'll probably try listing it on ebay, if that doesn't work, I can always try selling it at the flea market or donate it to the Caritas.

So, how would you date this? 80s? Or already 90s?

I guess I can call this a prom dress? What do you call this shape of the skirt? I saw a pretty similar white dress on ebay that was called "pixie style"?

(oooold photo of me...)

The label is TD4 by Eletra - I found a few dresses by this label on ebay, but often without a date.

The bodice has soft boning, and it's only problem is actually this bit of ripped lace underneath the arm, but I think this can be fixed.

Thanks for your input on this!

I think it's pretty. Why not try to list it for the Prom season & see how it goes? If it were me, I don't even think I'd use the date...maybe. It S very much the Fairy Princess dress & I think a lot of teenage girls are still drawn to that.

Love the color.
I'd show it with a clear or cream shoe though, if you're going to use a model. Not black.

Best of Luck. :)

Well, Halloween's not a big thing here (certainly not a tradition - most people feel it's just a marketing thing) so I don't think I'll keep it for that. I'm not into the whole carnival thing anymore either, and I need space in my closet...

I'll see where I will list it. I don't think I can put it on ebay US - the shipping costs I have to ask for are probably too high. Happened the last time I tried to list something on ebay US. I can try ebay UK or Etsy - or keept it till next autumn and try it for the carnival season here at the Swiss auction site where I sell "normal" stuff (it's no use for vintage clothes but I hadn't though of the carnival thing... they even have an extra category for that).
