Teal Traina garden party dress...date ?????

I'm clueless on dating this Teal Traina dress/jacket. It's got a nylon zipper which appears to be original, tagged size 12 and measures modern 6-ish. The jacket has turned & stitched seam finishes, while the dress seams appear to be selveges. Lining seams are pinked. Dress hem appears original (it's 4" deep). Fabric is sheer with a very slight surface texture...I can't find anything to burn, so I don't know what it is. Any ideas on the date or what I should call this textile..??

i am not a huge help but i would say mid/late 60's? i have a coatdress with the same label from around that time, and i see the same one on the label resource is 60's.

but i am so rubbish at dating things i wouldn't take that as particularly official.. hopefully someone else more knowledgeable will help out!

afraid i'm not sure about the fabric either. georgette (sp?) maybe? anyway, it's gorgeous and very this season!!

Some pretty bright colors for spring, a joy to see after the duldrums of winter...

Is that smocking I see on the bust line there??? It speaks to me of a cruise outfit, I can see her there on deck with her shawl and enjoying the ocean breeze!

Very nice!

I would call that MINE if it was in my size!! That is totally me!!!!!!!!

I had some tops with that kind of smocking on the bodice as a young teen, which makes me think 73-74-ish (??) I could be totally off though.

I love it Patsy!!

Patsy, I was thinking late 60s, early 70s, too.

Would the fabric be voile?

Voile [vwahl] - A lightweight, sheer fabric with a crisp, wiry hand. Originally cotton, voile is now also made in silk, rayon or acetate.
