Ted Shore 40s? Dress

Hi again ! Was wondering if I could get help on dating this dress. Looks 40s to me, Talon side zip, gathers above side hip, has a tacked on back ''belt'', lace is creme colored. I knew I'd heard the name Ted Shore before, and then realized it was on a Frank Starr dress I had. The label looks hand written in green ink. I took a picture of the sleeve pulled back to uncover the shoulder pad. Material is a crepe, not sure what kind. Also, there are a few spots, but looks hopeful, how should I clean this ? I think its so pretty ! Reminds me of Joan Crawford.

Very '40's! Great dress. It's probably rayon crepe and it should clean. Here's an ad from 1946 that refers to Ted Shore as a "new' designer:

There were lots of references to gowns. There's a '50's dress on Etsy with a FranK Starr by Ted Shore label but the seller hasn't shown the label. Also found Ted Shore mentioned in an old blog of Jody's at Couture Allure. And found this article about him again from 1946:

The last dress - also from 1946 reminds me of the one you found.

Many thanks Linn ! I love those ads, it does look similiar. Thanks on the heads up on rayon crepe, would a good dry cleaners be able to take care of it ?
