term for super fine wale corduroy ?

hi folks,

is there a specific term for a super fine wale corduroy ?

i have this super cute dress i believe from the 70's and the corduroy is so fine, it's nearly a velvet(?)

anyway, i figured there may be a specific term for this type of fabric.

In the 50s, it was called 'babycord'...

I've heard babycord, and that may be more charming than my list, from Mary Humphries' Fabric Glossary:
