Hello!

Okay she is unlined and a cotton black velvet. Machine sewn with hand sewing on edges. Diamond design patch worked on the chest. the seams have come undone on the chest.......i think someone has already tried to repair this, the hook and eye in the dress at the waist looks newer. Buttons are heavy brass. I cant say this is the prettiest sewing, but there isnt really that much to this dress. Wondering when Chanel started selling their patterns, cuz maybe this is just one of those. Any vibes on this would be lovely. TIA Ilish

The seams are neatly overcast indicating couture or very experienced dressmaker.

How are the button loops attached? Sewn into a fold or a seam?

It look like it is seam, the seam being backed by a thin piece of silk, sort of like hem tape.
