(I hope this message works out well, first time I do this)
Hello Everyone,
Today I came across this website as I was searching on Google to find some info about a vintage jacket I bought the other day. In this forum I saw how users post pictures and ask other users if they can give them more info about the items. I think this is a wonderfull idea and like to know more about some items I bought lately. I like to find out something about how old the items are and maybe some info about the brands, as most of them I couldn't find in the Label list.
*Black coat from Sweden
This coat was the very first vintage item I have ever bought. Also my first purchase on Etsy.
Description on Etsy:
This beautiful wool coat belonged to a lady in Sweden who was born in the late 1800-century. She wore this coat on Sundays, when she wanted to look her very best. When worn, it looks almost like you are wearing a suit with a blazer and a skirt because of the peplum waist. The fabric is rich black wool and the coat is fully lined.
Thoughts about the coat:
The seller thought this coat is from the 1940's, as the lady in the story wore it in the 1940's. But she said the coat could be much older...
Want to know:
I've searched the internet but couldn't find anything of the brand that is on the label. I know nothing about this coat, except the story the seller told me. I hope someone can give me more info on the brand (label says 'Sydd Av Söderbergs Upsala'), or tell me how old this coat is.
*Navy blue jacket from Lord & Taylor
Bought this awesome jacket on Etsy. It's from Lord & Taylor fifth avenue, and has the label from the National Recovery Board.
Description on Etsy:
This highly styled vintage 1940s jacket is made from a navy blue wool, with a circa post-war 40s cut in the manner of Dior's "new look". The nipped waist is formed by the back princess seam and side front panel triple long darts. There are 3 buttons for the closure, with one at the waist, and two at the left upper bodice, with a choice of buttoning the shawl collar up high or with a more open lapel.
Thoughts about the coat:
The seller thinks it's from the 1940's.
Want to know:
As there is many information of the brand Lord & Taylorand the NRB on this website, the main thing I want to know is how old this jacket is. Is it really from the 1940's? Maybe someone knows the exact year
*Blue jacket with fur from Wilken Modell
I bought this jacket last week in a store here in The Netherlands where you can hire outfits for a dress up party. The seller also had themeclothes for people who want to make movies, musicals, etc.
Thoughts about the coat:
I think Wilken Modell is a brand from Germany.
Want to know:
I really want to know how old the jacket is. Also I want to know what kind of fur is used. And more info of the brand.
Other items from Wilken Modell
I've found to other items on the internet from the same brand. Maybe it's useful.
And:
*Green coat from Hock Modelle
Bought this item a while ago. The seller didn't know the age of the coat, so accept from the brand name I know nothing about the coat.
Thoughts about the coat:
I think it's from the 1980's or 1990's because there is a label in the coat with washing instructions.
Want to know:
I want to know how old the coat is. And more info of the brand.
I really hope someone can help me.
