The best 1970s films for 1970s fashion...

Hi,

I just posted a comment on your blog. You hit the nail on the head with Foxy Brown..right on! Really a time machine to the 1970's fashions. Klute also is one of my favorites and I love the way Jane looks, I remember me and my sister dressing like that (of course I never looked as good as Jane...waaah). What a great idea for a blog post. But, from you, it is always something good. I will try to think of any others that captured the "fashion moments" of the 1970's. Barbara

My pics were not all 70s fashions except for the Harder They Come...people did pick up on that look.

But I do know that I and a lot of my friends did wear Victorian & Edwardian clothing during the 70s, which is why I picked Picnic at Hanging Rock.

the Barry Lyndon film I chose as it featured Marisa Berenson who was quite the fashion icon at that time!

Willy Wonka - because it was just such a fun film!!!

Hi,

YES I love "Jackie Brown" it is on my top 20 best movies of all time. I've watched it so many times. I think Pam deserved and Oscar for her performance, as did Robert Forster. I was thrilled and lucky enough to meet Pam Grier recently in Hollywood at The Egyptian Theatre for a screening of "Foxy Brown". She was so gracious to me. Seeing her on the big screen in those WILD WILD outfits was great. The audience was shouting with nostalgic appreciation when they saw her in those colorful and sexy 70's clothes. What a figure she has! Still does too and she is still very beautiful. By the way, her biography "Foxy" is in bookstores now! Shameless plug here.

I agree that "Foxy Brown" is a wonderful time capsule of 1970's fashions. Jonathan, thanks for starting this thread and for your great blog.

Barbara
