The Coaster Sensation

These funny little glass cozies are "Hi-Jacs - The Coaster Sensation." I thought of Jonathan when I read the insert -

"Since all Lastex is going into the War Effort, our designers have effected tis new construction which is just as absorbent, just as durable and as versatile as the old style - and its 100% American mercerized terri-knit."

I also just got a kick out of reading the directions.

"Be sure to put on before filling glass. Simply turn glass upside down and slip Hi-Jac over the bottom."

Right - good idea to not pour the drink first. :elf:

They are used to absorb the moisture from the glass "sweating" once the cocktail and ice are in the glass.

It is so humid here that I use a cocktail napkin for this purpose. You can't put a "bare" glass down on a table unless it has a room temperature beverage like red wine in it.

My husband's mom has a set of these that are decorated to look like Santas and Snowmen. She has a running joke every Christmas, where she cleverly hides them in our Christmas gifts or stockings. :12:
