The Decade that Taste Forgot, in Museums soon...

Well, at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, anyway.

In a Globe story on the 25 most stylish Bostonians today, the director of the MFA Fashion Council (one of the 25 elect) says the MFA will be doing an exhibit on 70s fashion next year.

I've always had a soft spot for the 70s (did my teen years then, for one thing...) and am definitely psyched!

I think the 70's "everyday" fashions aren't too bad, but when I see some of those maxis I just shake my head. And who thought the concepts of "leisure" and "suit" should be combined? Maybe peanut butter and chocolate, but not leisure and suit

Oh, boy! I finally got in to see the Art Deco jewelry exhibit a couple weeks before it closed and it was sooooooo wonderful. Can't wait for this one!

It will be interesting to see what they choose to showcase. I'm a teen of the 70s as well, and I really liked the retro look of the decade. I spent a lot of time channeling a non-violent Bonnie Parker.
