The latest wide belt trend

Like it? Hate it? Indifferent? It reminds me of the 50s which I love but my upper torso is not that long so the wide belts do not always accomplish the goal of making me look "hour glass." Target had the cutest belts and so did Saks Fifth Avenue.

I found a neat western tooled leather belt with the neatest buckle at a rummage sale for 25 cents.

Finally-how does everyone do selling accessories? I have a darling Vera scarf listed for $2.00 and there are two people watching the store listing but no purchase yet. I have some vintage belts I would like to list but wonder if it's worth my time-any thoughts?

I sell a TON of belts, scarves and sunglasses at the vintage fairs I do. I also do well with purses and hats. In addition to whatever trends are going on (belts are very hot right now), I think some of the shoppers really want to find something at the show, and often dresses and skirts are either the wrong size or out of their price range. Accessories are much easier to fit.

I sell my non-designer sunglasses (mostly those oversized 80s ones) for $15, my non-designer silk scarves (always with hand rolled hems) for $15-20, and most belts for $12-$30. Considering what I can typically find these items for, both the customer and I are happy with the prices.

Oh, and I just run most of the sunglasses through the dishwasher before I tighten the hinges and price them. Cracks my husband up to open the door and find a whole row of them in there.
