If anyone out there could help me date this Men's Smoking Robe I would appreciate it. Label: The London Shop Beverly Hills Hollywood. Color is Black, with Silver/White Fleur Des Lis (Is this called jacquard??). Fabric: I can't remember what this is called??? Totally Lined. Only thing wrong with this piece is it is missing the belt. Thank You, click on photos to enlarge them.

English dandy label, sold in the US with a very French print in the fleur de lis pattern - it's so appropriate for the global market!

Satin brocade and the trim is done if faille, I think.

I have heard the term English Dandy but I am unfamiliar with what the meaning is, though my orgins are totally English my family were the Tews, it has been years since I visited England.

I worked at the London Shop in Bev Hills in the early 60s. I remember that robe. I believe it was sold at the shop around 1960 and had a self belt of the same fabric. A gold braid belt would work if you can find one.
