I don't know if Rubel made anything else in any quantity besides this coat. I've been told by a vintage dealer friend that they can be seen in emerald, sapphire, bright cerise, kelly, turquoise, brown, red, mustard, and pea green! In this bright cerise/magenta/fuchsia color I've found three, the first I had to keep, and I'm now on my second for sale. I want one in pea green!!

Listed here.

wow! nice! and btw, i LOVE that yummy blue dress and and and and ...

AND IF ONLY I WERE A TWIG LIKE YOU that scrumptious 40's grey would be gone!

great stuff; GREAT accessoriziing!! and 2 bids on it already!! :headbang:

A twig? Mary, I think I'm more like a tree trunk...but thank you!! :hysterical:

I'm really glad to have found this coat thrice in pink, but can't wait to snag different colors! Strangely, I don't think it was made in black.

I do love that coat

I've found 2 of them, both turquoise.

Wonder if certain colors were released in different parts of the country?

I'm not sure Karen...I can tell you that the pink coats came from various parts of the country: Indianapolis, California and nearby in Washington.

In my imagination I picture a little shop in San Francisco with all these gorgeously-colored coats, and all the chic women tourists just having to have one to take home!

What a gorgeous coat, Maggie--can see why you kept one for yourself... (And I wouldn't stop at lusting for one more color--I'd want the whole rainbow!)

Even if it was tough on your camera, you did a fab job with the luscious color, and I love your rhinestone accessories--they're perfect! (Is that an "official" hair ornament, or a brooch you have tweaked brilliantly?)

After seeing this coat on you I think I need one...The image of a shop filled with these sounds so charming...Colors like these are so uplifting..I have always thought you do sich a nice job with your photos Maggie...you capture the femininity of the 50's era so nicely!

I picture all kinds of women in this coat, as once I saw the pea green on a snowy-haired woman being escorted to a seat at a wedding. She had a matching hat, and looked absolutely stunning! For every woman, there must be a strong color that works best!

How lovely Maggie! An older woman who exudes that sense of style and sophistication is someone to be emulated don't you agree?...I was thinking hot pink or ruby red because I have dark short Mia Farrow style hair....but maybe emerald green would work as well...
