The Olsen Twins Bought My Stuff!

Sunday the 12th, at one of the stores I consign at, the Olsen twins (who are currently enrolled at NYU) came up and knocked on the door when the owner was closed, surrounded by bodyguards, and asked if they could shop. Of course the owner threw open the doors for them.

They bought a bunch of 40s-50s and 70s bangle bracelets, some brooches, a fantastic hippy-meets-secretary blouse (that every girl has been eyeing) and a cropped 70s wool tweed bomber of mine. Needless to say the owner is thrilled! And so am I! I already saw a picture in "The Daily" (the mag they give out at fashion shows) that I picked up at a show last week and there they are with my bangles on!
 
I guess now I can say I know a celebrity!! That is great. Do you have a picture of any of those things? What did the bangles look like?
 
Linda, they're just simple brass bangles, some wide, some narrow. Some with bakelite, some with wood, and some with MOP insets. I just buy bangles whenever I see them and the girl at this shop takes them all...

I have a pic, but I don't have a scanner here... I'm going to bring it to my friend's house to scan...

Margaret Mary Kate and Ashley When they were little they played on a family sitcom. ( can't remember the name of it) John Stamos ( swoooning) was in it. They now have a movie ( they are all grown up at 18) NY minute or something like that. And they have a line of makeup etc and I think clothes ( not sure bout that) one of them just had treatment for anorexia. They have huge eyes.
 
Thanks guys! I just saw another pic at the store (I went to pick up my landfall) and they have on more of my bangles! In Us magazine this month you can see one in one of the many pics of the twins. There is one pic where one of the girls has on a bangle bracelet with MOP elephants, which is mine. All the others are too small to tell...

That is so cool Kev!! Those girls are just so adorable (not to mention stinking rich!). But, I think the constant bodyguard thing would be such a drag!!

Thanks for the info - in fact they do a range of clothing here in the UK, sold in the Asda supermarkets under their christian names which is why I hadn't connected them with the 'Olsen Twins'.
 
That's good to know re: bangles. I know for a little while they weren't the epitome of "in" style with the younger kids, and they have an influence over the very very young....in reality they have less influence over the styles of their age group 18-22 year olds than they do over 7-14 year olds. Part of it is the way they have been "handled", preserving more of a wholesome, kid next door image vs say, a certain Ms. Spears. Of course, with Mary Kate's foray into rehab, that would seem to have changed things a bit, but it really doesn't seem to have at the moment.

(oh, of course some guy had a website counting down the seconds to when they turned 18 thinking...but that is a different angle all together.)

Well gosh how exciting is that Kevin!!!

I hear they dropped a big bundle to buy two huge apartments and renovate them into one...Some 3.75 million???

They just needed some digs to live in while they did their schooling!!! :)

Mary Kate and Ashley are adored by my 8 year old daughter, I swear she has every single video of theirs since they were young...Of course she is not allowed to watch the movies they are making now...

That is SO cool!! I have yet to have my Olsen Twin sighting but it's sure to happen any day now. I'm going out to the East Village tonight ~ so maybe I'll spot them. ;)
 
Missed this the first time around, as I was away!! That is great Kevin. We really do need to get a Celebrities Shop Vintage from the VFG page or something for all of our various brushes with the star fashionistas!!

For having been in the limelight since birth, I think those girls seem pretty level headed and unaffected. They must have fabulous parents and good business advisors/agents around them.
