The Trunk is Home...What the Heck are these?

So the trunk is home and I cannot believe the things I am finding in here. A lot of it I dont even know what it is or what one would do with it...I am sure you will see some of those in the future. There are so many scarves, gloves, knick knacking things that is amazing. There are also tons of sewing notions - collars, fabric pieces, thread, buttons, etc. I am kind of lost but it is sure fun looking!

I thought I would start with some small things - I really dont know what these are. Scarf? Collar? Just not sure. Also, what do you think they are made of and of course dating help if you have any thoughts.

I have some pieces of jewelry and some purses I am going to try to get through today but I am pooped. So much work just getting home and geting it all out!

Thanks all!!! Maureen

Ahhh - well no wonder I couldn't figure it out - duh to me! I will go in search of the other halves. There are a bunch of belts in here - mostly dried out and ruined but still buckles. Guess I better be looking more closely at the buckles! ;)

Thanks!

No luck on the other halves but still a lot to dig through. Did find these - kind of fun! The metal one in corner is stamped "solid brass" with a patent date of 1926. Patent #s are there too so will research once I am not so overwhelmed!

Thanks!

Do check to see if these match dresses or blouses that are in the truck - a dress with it's matching belt is always better.

Sadly, they don't have matching dresses. Most if not all of the dresses all have their belts. I WISH I had these dresses because some of the belts look pretty amazing...I am guessing the dresses would be too. :(

Patents for utility patents as opposed to design patents were good for a long time so the date is the earliest it can be but not necessarily the latest.

Wonderful selection!
